Shop In Car Boots!!

Sunday was another cool and sunny day. Fahrul took us to an area, a big field some half an hour away from Tenby town, where people were holding ‘car boot’ sales, selling their personal belongings. The weather was especially pleasant and the crowd was getting bigger and bigger. Some were dressed for the sun, light clothing, shades, hats and caps, and yet some were barely dressed, shorts or cut-off jeans, bare breasted and all! I felt the chill in my short-sleeved T and I wonder how these guys can be bare breasted!

Most of the items displayed for sale were stuff like those you have in your house that had been left in the corners and boxes and cabinets etc. which had not been looked at for years and years. Clothes, books, crockery, children’s toys, household goods of all shapes and sizes, tools and garden implements, electrical appliances etc were displayed for sale.

Sita found a nice set of Royal Dalton chinaware that were still in very good condition and she got it for just £7.5 while Najla picked up a few good as new children’s books for a few pennies each. While browsing, the little girl had several times played with kiddy baby prams and I thought oh oh! there she goes. If she wants it she can be very adamant insisting that Sita buys it for her. Where will she be playing with it, not in the apartment I thought! Luckily Sita managed to convince her not to buy. The books she picked up I thought was good enough compensation for her.

The rest of the day was spent with the families of Fahrul’s colleagues as one of them had invited all for lunch, late lunch, and it turned out to be a combination of lunch and high tea! We broke up at about 6.00pm, a long lunch and high tea indeed. The children had a lot of fun playing amongst themselves and skipped their afternoon naps. Najla joined in playing with the other children and all throughout she did not bother the mother at all and continued playing in the group. She is beginning to enjoy playing and interacting with friends a natural growing up development I hope………
